Station is named for the former National Science Foundation Representative in New Zealand, Margaret Lanyon; and for Margaret Lazzara Cookman (1958-2004).

Margaret was formerly known as Roosevelt Island

Station Repair History

12 November 2008 - Site installed. Height from the surface to the boom is 514 cm, Height to the top of the electronics enclosure is 325 cm, height to the lower delta temperature sensor is 210 cm, and the height to the acoustic depth gauge is 215 cm.
