Understanding "Combo" Images The "combo" images have combined the wind direction and wind speed into one two-colored number. The first two digits (in yellow) represent the wind direction without the last digit. The last two digits (in blue) represent the wind speed in knots. For example, if the number was 1420, the wind direction would be 140 degrees, and the speed would be 20 knots. Questions? Email amrc@ssec.wisc.edu.
