Data Transmission
The transmitted AWS data are received and stored by the ARGOS data
collection system on the NOAA series of polar orbiting satellites. The data
are retransmitted by the satellite for reception by a local user terminal
(LUT) as at McMurdo, Antarctica. The data are processed into scientific units
and are available for local use. The complete data set is received daily at
Madison, Wisconsin, from Service ARGOS, Toulouse, France, for processing and
distribution to the users.
