DJ Rasmussen

DJ Rasmussen joined the AMRC group in the fall of 2008. He is a student at UW-Madison currently working towards a BS degree in atmospheric science. Previously, he attended the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities. He is currently working on his senior thesis and is looking forward to graduating in the near future.

At the AMRC, DJ is working on creating satellite composite movies of Antarctica, and is using McIDAS-X to make satellite image movies of iceberg movement. He also helps out with web content, data archival, and several odds and ends that are requested to be completed. Nonetheless, DJ has a long list of exciting up and coming projects with the AMRC.

DJ's primary interests in atmospheric science include meteorlogical applications, such as wind generated electricity, meteorological time series analysis, boundary layer meteorology, and atmospheric pollution dispersion.

In the future, he hopes to apply his knowledge and experience in the atmospheric sciences in the engineering or energy industry.

DJ also is a member of the UW Cycling Team. His other personal interests outside of AOS include enjoying our Wisconsin Winters, playing guitar, running, and spending time with family and friends.
