Zach Uttech joined the AMRC group in the fall of 2009. He is currently a graduate GIS certificate student in the University of Wisconsin department of geography, and he plans to pursue a M.S. degree in atmospheric science at the University of Wisconsin beginning in the fall of 2010. Zach received his B.S. degree in atmospheric and oceanic science from the University of Wisconsin in the spring of 2009. His main atmospheric science related interests are: synoptic and climate dynamics of winter weather, satellite remote sensing, and climate change. Zach's favorite atmospheric science activity as an undergrad was a research trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado in March 2008 to live atop Mt. Werner at the Storm Peak Lab (sponsored by the Desert Research Institute). His research topic was "Radiatively Driven Surface-Based Temperature Inversions".
