They named it “Skomik Island” and is a combination of the beginning of their last names. Skomik PCWS is a Polar Climate and Weather Station, developed as part of a collaborating project between Madison College and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It is collocated with Schwerdtfeger AWS and a Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) AWS.	1 Photo
