No bad data has been removed, though calibration errors may result in the re-generation of some of the data. The data are organized in ten minute intervals. Many changes and additions are being made to the 1996-97 data; please regularly check "readme.updates" for the latest information. In November of 1994, a series of AWS units were installed with five digit ID numbers. To maintain the filename formats and the header formats used previously on all our other data, the filenames of these new stations, as well as their headers have been shortened by a number. The stations in question have ARGOS IDs ranging from 21355 through 21364. These stations' ID numbers lose the leading '2' in their filenames. Thus, the filename for December 1994 of ID# 21358 would be 13581294.r. Similarly, the header would also be shorted to "Dec 94 Station : 1358 Station Name" in this case. It is important to keep in mind, however, that the real IDs include the initial '2.' Pegasus North (8927) has an intermittent calibration problem with the air pressure data. This data has been marked as "missing" until we can come up with a solution. We've detected an inconsistency in our earlier fix of Dome Fuji's (8982) air pressure, and this data should thus be treated with suspicion until it is fixed. On 24 February 1999, we discovered an error in station calibration which caused a 180 degree shift in the Siple Dome wind direction data. We also discovered minor errors in the calibrations for Elizabeth (21361) and Bonaparte Point (8923). These data will be rerun as soon as they can be.
