Greetings, The low-pressure system over the Ross Sea and its associated trough continues to move eastward allowing a ridge of high pressure to build along the Transantarctic Mountain Range drawing majority of the moisture away from the camp. Improved weather conditions are expected through the entire forecast. Tuesday: The low cloud layer is expected to move off early this morning, resulting in mostly clear skies through the remainder of the day. Visibility will be 3-5 miles in mist, becoming unrestricted by midday. Winds are expected to be light and variable. Wednesday: Continued mostly clear skies for today with unrestricted visibility reducing to 3-5 miles in light mist by mid-morning. A further drop in visibility to 1-3 miles in blowing snow and mist can be expected as the winds increase in the afternoon. Winds will begin the day light and variable, increasing to 10-15 knots with gusts to 25 knots out of the south by early afternoon. Thursday: Continued fair skies are in the forecast. Light mist and blowing snow keep visibility restricted to 1-3 miles throughout the day. South-southeasterly winds of 15-20 knots gusting to 30 knots will decrease to 10-15 knots gusting to 20 knots by mid-afternoon. Cheers, Vincent Weber
