Greetings, A ridge of relatively weak high pressure resides over the western Ice Shelf while a quasi-stationary localized low pressure center sits over Roosevelt Island. This scenario draws low level moisture from West Antarctica over the Ice Shelf producing extensive fog and limited vertical visibility for the camp. Monday: Expect overcast skies with ceilings varying between 300 and 500 feet. Visibility will be less than 1/2 mile occasionally 1 mile in fog. Winds will be south-southeasterly at 5-10 knots. Tuesday: Overcast skies with ceilings varying between 300 and 500 feet will continue. Visibility should be around 1-3 miles reducing to 1/2 in fog by evening. Winds remain southeasterly at 5-10 knots. Wednesday: Mostly cloudy skies with variable ceilings between 1000 and 3000 feet. Visibility will less than 1/2 mile in fog improving to 1-3 miles by mid-day. Winds southeast through south at 4-8 knots. Cheers, Vincent Weber
