Greetings, A ridge of relatively weak high pressure over the western Ice Shelf recedes westward while a quasi-stationary low pressure center sits over Roosevelt Island. This scenario draws low level moisture from West Antarctica over the Ice Shelf producing extensive fog and limited vertical visibility during this forecast period. Tuesday: Mostly clear skies. Visibility unrestricted, reducing to 3-5 miles in light fog by mid-afternoon, further reducing to 1 mile in fog by late evening. Winds will be southeasterly at 8-12 knots, tapering off to light and variable by mid-afternoon. Wednesday: Mostly clear skies. Visibility 1-3 miles in fog, occasionally reducing to less than 1/2 mile with 300-foot vertical visibility in fog. Winds remain light and variable. Thursday: Mostly clear skies. Visibility 1-3 miles in fog, occasionally reducing to less than 1/2 mile with 300-foot vertical visibility in fog. Winds southwesterly at 4-8 knots. Cheers, Vincent Weber
