Greetings, A weak ridge of high pressure continues to reside over the Camp today as a low over the Central Ice Shelf draws low level moisture into the area from West Antarctica. The ever-present fog is expected to finally clear on Sunday as increased winds are expected to dry out surface moisture. Saturday: Dense fog restricting severely restricting visibility is expected to lighten up early in the forecast, becoming partly cloudy skies with 1-3 miles of visibility in fog, occasionally closing in to ceilings of 300 feet vertical visibility and less than 1/2 mile in dense fog during periods of extended lulls in the wind. The winds will continue to be light and variable in the morning hours, becoming southeasterly at 5-10 knots with occasional gusts to 18 knots by late morning. Sunday: Mostly clear skies and unrestricted visibility as moderately gusty surface winds drive away moisture. Expect southerly winds of 10-15 knots with gusts to 25 knots through the day. Monday: Fair weather is forecast to continue with Partly cloudy skies and unrestricted visibility throughout the day. Winds are forecast southerly at 8-12 knots, becoming light and variable in the early afternoon. Cheers, Vincent Weber
