Low clouds and light snow this morning with a solid deck of clouds moving in from McMurdo sound. Expect favorable conditions, but cold, through Friday, 8 Sep, morning.

Indications are for an intense low-pressure system developing late Thursday and moving into the local area from the southeast by Friday at 1200L causing “herbie” type conditions

until the end of the forecast period. Temperatures decrease below -40C as we clear out today through tomorrow afternoon, but expected to remain in the -35C to -40C range

on Thursday afternoon, then warming significantly after Friday due to low-pressure system…warming to -14C by late Sunday.
