Clouds will slowly build through today creating a ceiling but staying in the green category. By Tuesday morning, another major system in the Ross Sea begins to impact Phoenix, first with lower ceilings and snow followed by Herbie winds, gusting into the 70 knot range on Wednesday. The system finally begins to weaken and retrograde away from McMurdo Thursday morning however strong winds may still be possible. If the loose snow hasn’t been scoured away by Thursday, we could still see blowing snow significantly reduce visibility. Friday shows clearing of that system and benign conditions return to the McMurdo region. Cheers, Joey Snarski
