“Borderline” temperatures prevail at Phoenix today, as an extremely shallow and geographically small pool of cold air is lingering over top of the airfield. A low passing by tomorrow will bring increased winds, but unfortunately is NOT expected to bring warmer temperatures, as its circulation does not draw in the warmer air from the north that larger, stronger lows usually do. A system currently anticipated on day five could finally bring that warm air to the region – but the usual cautions regarding longer-range forecasts apply. Bob Michael
