Attached As expected, a low center has parked itself on the northern edge of the ice shelf, where it is expected to sit and spin for the next several days. Warm, moist air from the north will wrap around it then flow over the Ross Island area from the south, bring low ceilings, snow and blowing snow reflected as a long red line across the first four days of this forecast. A number of things could happen to change that beyond the first 24 hours of this forecast, of course. The low could weaken, or move slightly farther away, bringing better than currently expected weather for at least part of this period… but for now, at least, the outlook is pessimistic. Bob Michael
