Please see attached. A passing low-pressure system in the Ross Sea to the northeast weakens the low to our east as series of weak surface troughs approach Ross Island from the southeast. Lighter winds and higher pressure allow for cold air to seep back into the local area as temperatures dip down to the -35C to -40C range from Saturday to Monday and to less than -40C on Saturday. Indications are for the next low-pressure system to move up from the southeast on Sunday afternoon causing strong winds and blowing snow, but not strong or persistent enough to significantly raise the temperatures.
