Much of the weather through the middle portion of this period results from small-scale features that are notoriously difficult to pin down in an extended forecast. Unfortunately that means more uncertainty and most likely significant changes as the days go by.  For now expect periods of snow of variable intensity and commensurate swings in visibility, absent the extremely strong winds that mark a true “herbie” – until the approach of what appears to be a major low on Friday.
