Notices and changes are noted and dated below. E-mail amrc@ssec.wisc.edu with comments or questions on this data. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6/3/2003 - Per Olivia Billett, Science Tech at McMurdo: I've posted the weather data for May on the FTP site, but I just wanted to warn you about it a bit. The Crary weather station is also being used by a few others on station, so I've spent some time putting it online as a web page. (Namely MacWeather, whose anemometer has developed a bug and thereofore needs to be able to access our data instead). This involved changing software, archive intervals, etc, so the data is a little bit irregular. Hopefully by the end of this month, not only will the system be constant but it will also be completely automatic so that science tech won't have to be involved. But last month and this month will contain some variations. 10/14/2003 - Per Seth White, Science Tech at McMurdo: October's Crary weather data, the file will be missing data from days 10/4-10/12 due to an oversight with the daylight savings time which affected uhe data (the weather station is intended to keep McMurdo local time year-round), and didn't realize it until 10/12. The Crary Lab data is on McMurdo Local time, and should switch ± 1 hour during the year. This is primarily because the AO-131 was the one to originally request the Crary weather station, and they always go by local time. FYI, daylight savings at MCM took effect 10/4/03 at 0200 local time (time jumped from 0159 to 0300).
