Stearns and George A. Weidner. The file for Table 5 is "table5.slh" in ASCII format. The first item is the table legend which is also given below with a sample of the heading for the columns and the first filein the table. After the column heading the format for the file of Table 5 is blank line, A80 for the line containg the year, ARGOS identification number and site name. The locations of the sites are given in the paper. The formats for the data on each line are: I2, F8.2, F9.2, 2F7.2, F8.2, F7.2, F8.2, F7.2, 2F6.2, I5. There is a blank line after each file. The file for a given year and automatic weather station site does not necessarily have one year of data. Questions or comments? Please send an email to amrc@ssec.wisc.edu. Table 5. Monthly mean data related to the sensible and latent heat fluxes determined from automatic weather stations in Antarctica from 1984 through 1990. T3 is the mean air temperature at 3 m, PP is the mean pressure in mb., VV is the mean wind speed in m s-1, Tau is the surface stress in 100 Pa, To is the mean estimated surface temperature, ėT is the mean vertical temperature difference, Qo is the mean sensible heat flux, W m-2, Eo is the mean latent heat flux, W m-2, q3 is the mean mixing ratio, q0 is the mixing ratio at the surface based on the estimated surface temperature, and OBS is the number of solutions for the latent and sensible heat flux for the month. ______________________________________________________________________________ MONTH T3 PP VV Tau To ėT Qo Eo q3 q0 OBS 1984 8908 Laurie 1 -8.98 998.30 4.60 6.53 -7.49 -0.17 18.70 21.27 1.44 2.09 73 2 -13.45 991.55 6.52 11.61 -12.76 -0.12 9.66 9.80 1.11 1.40 206 3 -20.28 981.37 5.58 9.46 -19.62 0.16 19.25 8.02 0.62 0.78 188 4 -22.05 981.57 7.39 15.20 -21.67 0.05 19.47 6.52 0.59 0.66 193 5 -25.43 989.74 6.53 12.94 -25.50 0.43 7.36 2.26 0.45 0.47 197
