South Pole breaks mores records!

Yet another record-breaking week for South Pole station occured during the week of December 4th-10th!

The records that were broken are listed below:

December 6: The average wind speed of 17.2 knots/19.8 mph broke the previous highest average wind speed record of 17.1 knots/19.7 mph set in 1960.
December 7: The peak wind speed of 25 knots/29 mph broke the previous record of 21 knots/24 mph in 2005.
December 7: The average wind speed of 18.6 knots/21.4 mph broke the previous highest average wind speed record of 14.8 knots/17.0 mph set in 1960.
December 8: The peak wind speed of 25 knots/29 mph broke the previous record of 24 knots/28 mph in 2005.
December 8: The average wind speed of 15.9 knots/18.3 mph broke the previous highest average wind speed record of 15.2 knots/17.5 mph set in 2005.
December 8: The pressure of 709.6 mb/20.954" broke the previous maximum station pressure record for December of 706.7 mb/20.869" set in December 13, 2003.
December 9: The peak wind speed of 28 knots/32 mph broke the previous record of 24 knots/28 mph in 1984.
December 9: The average wind speed of 17.5 knots/20.1 mph broke the previous highest average wind speed record of 17.0 knots/19.6 mph set in 1963.
December 10: The peak wind speed of 32 knots/37 mph broke the previous record of 30 knots/35 mph in 1993.
