Travel Information

Madison is easily accessible by several airlines through the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, WI, approximately 6 miles (9 km) from the city center. All hotels are easily reached via taxi. The cost for a taxi to the city center should be approximately $25. Madison has three taxi companies – Madison Taxi, Union Cab, and Badger Cab. Car rentals are also available in the airport. For those staying at the Hilton DoubleTree and Best Western InnTowner Hotels, a free shuttle is available from the airport to the hotel site by calling from courtesy phones located in the airport. Madison is also easily accessible by airports in nearby cities, if you choose to fly to another city. If you fly into General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, you can reach Madison via the Badger Bus. Travel on the bus will take approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, and costs $20. Get off at the Memorial Union Stop for the Lowell Center, or the Badger Bus Depot for the Hilton DoubleTree. For the Best Western, get off at the Memorial Union stop and take the #80 Madison Metro bus from Memorial Union (stop is on the west side of the Union, on Park St., under the blue sign), or take a taxi. If you choose to fly into O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, you can reach Madison via the Van Galder Bus. Travel on the bus will take approximately 3 hours, and costs $26.

The Pyle Center is located on Langdon St., one block off of State Street, which houses many restaurants and an active night life (see map). The Lowell Center hotel, located one block from The Pyle Center, is also close to State Street. The Hilton DoubleTree might be recognized as the location of previous meetings held in past years. It is located approximately 6-7 blocks from The Pyle Center, and about 3 blocks from State Street, and is easily accessible on foot. The Best Western InnTowner is approximately 1-1/2 miles away, and is readily accessible to the conference site by shuttle, or for after hours service, by the free #80 line on the Madison Metro Bus System.
