A very large and dynamically deep low pressure system extending its pressure gradient all the way to the bottom of the Ross Ice Shelf will keep winds elevated for the next two days. A significant amount of moisture is associated with the low today. Expect conditions to rapidly deteriorate in the afternoon as precipitation and wind speeds jump up. As the low begins decaying on Tuesday, another low moves in and merges with the decaying low, strengthening the pressure gradient.
