The large trough is drawing away from station but maintains a strong enough pressure gradient to cause periods of higher winds. A smaller decaying low pressure system is being pushed up the Ross Ice Shelf by the larger trough, causing some possible flurries today. The pressure gradient should clear tomorrow with a small high encompassing McMurdo. On Monday a trough extending through the Ross Sea will tighten its pressure gradient as it moves southwards, causing periods of elevated gusts later in the week.
