Expect a bit of back-and-forth with surface winds at the airfield over the next couple of days as opposing southerly and northerly flow regimes meet in McMurdo Sound. Add a shot of snow into the mix overnight tonight and intensify the winds just a little tomorrow as a relatively minor low center edges just a bit closer to Ross Island… the result is an unfavorable flying day. Thursday should bring another sub-optimal stretch (mostly in the morning hours) but generally fair weather is expected otherwise through this period.
