A low to the east is generating strong winds, the worst in the area currently holding off just east of and over White Island but periodically gusting at the airfield. That low will drift closer through the day, with corresponding wind speed increase resulting in reduced visibility in blowing snow. Snowfall returns tonight, further degrading conditions. The low pulls away and weakens tomorrow; expect much improved weather the remainder of the period.
